Questionnaire
For purposes of generalization, the method of casual choice was carried
out. According to the choice, 1200 people with disabilities were diagnosed
in different towns and villages of Armenia (Yerevan, Armavir, Lori, Tavush,
Syunik). The classification of those people with disabilities according
to groups and gender has the following picture (picture1) The classification
of the above mentioned patients according to age groups is shown in the
chart mentiond below:

If we compare this situation with the level of eduacation in our Republic
(90% literacy), the fact, that people with disabilities are deprived of
equal rights in the sphere of eduacetion, will become evident.

The results mentioned above (picture 3) show that the rate of unemployment
among the people with disabilities is very high; 72.6% (according to official
data 11.7 % in the Republic). Another factor of major importance is that
the rate of unemployment among women with disabilities is higher as compared
to men (78.5% and 65.6 % respectively).
Taking into consideration results of the conducted questionnaire and
the wishes expressed by the disabled themselves, the following proposals
were made.
- To elaborate and implement short-term compulsory and specialized eduacational programs
- To provide disabled people's access to college eduacation and fit it to the terms of market economy
- In order to stimulate the growth of minor and middle business among the handicapped, it is necessary to confirm the legal state support of the former complementary industrial plants whose staff consisted of people with disabi;ties
- It is possible to provide the eduacation and employment opportunities of the handicapped due to state support, the private sector of the economy the aid of international organiazations.
