Public Organization of Hard-Hearing Children's Mothers

 

 

 

Since December 2009 the organization has been implementing a program "Project for Improving Newborn Hearing Examination and Developing Education for Children with Hearing Impairment in Yerevan" with financial aid of EMBASSY OF JAPAN. For more details click here.

 

“Day-Care Development Center for Children with Hearing Impairments”. The goal of the program is the integration of children with hearing impairments to social life. For more details click here.

Since August 2007 the organization has been implementing a program aimed at the “Elaboration of a Concept for Children with Hearing Impairments”. For more details click here.

Since June 2007 the program aimed at “Extending the Capacities of the Integrtion Center” has been implemented. For more details click here.

At beginning of January in 2007 year "Havat" NGO implemented program "Change the qualities of life for Deaf Children in Yerevan" with financial aid of Great Britain "International association of Deaf Children".For more details click here.

At december 2006 was completed the project aimed towards “The social and economic integration of the children with hearing loss in Armenia” under the support of “Eurasia” foundation and the funding of “Philip Morris Int.” For more details click here.

Since September 2005, due to the grants of the “Public Dialogues and Developments Foundation” and under the joint financial support of the “French-Armenian Developments Foundation” (FADF) NGO “Havat” of mothers of hard gearing children has been implementing the “Theatre is Life…” 8 moths' coalition project. The project is being implemented in conjunction with “Kamq ev Korov” NGO of young people with hearing defects. For more details click here.

On the 10th of July an event entitled “Education does not Admit of Any Discrimination” took place in the park near cafe “Aragast”. The event was organized by the coalition of NGOs “Towards Education for All” and was devoted to the protection of the rights of children.

As an outcome of the nationally implemented project “From Equal Rights - To Equal Opportunities”, a National Plan of Action on Disability (NPAD) was elaborated for the period of 2006-2010. The NPAD will be published in a single book shortly.

Upon the initiative of President of the National Committee of Television and Radio a meeting took place between the representatives of "Shogakat", "Armenian II TV-channel", "Armenia TV", "Shant", "Kentron", "Armenakob-TV" television stations and a number of Public Organizations (NGOs) including "Havat NGO of Mothers of Hard Hearing Children", "Kamq ev Korov", "Astghik", "Tatev", "Huysi ojakh" and the Union of the Deaf in Armenia on the 3-rd of May.
The meeting was also attended by the headmaster of school N15 of children with hearing defects and an audiologist from the Yerevan State Teacher-Training University. It was devoted the problem of applying simultaneous translations of the sign language on TV Channels, issue was raised at the meeting between A. Baghdasarian, chairman of the National Assembly and the Representatives of HGO "Havat". As a result of the meeting, the representatives, of the above-mentioned TV channels met the solution of the half-way, in different TV programs preferred by the deaf . This will be an expression of good faith in the implementation of the right of 4000 people information. The nature of surdo-programs and the exact days will be defined jointly with each TV station and the authorized NGOS.

On March1 at 14.00 in the Conference Hall of "Yerevan" Hotel took place the presentation of the program implemented by the contribution of " Philip Morris" Co. Program is aimed at professional orientation diff and hard-hearing children. It includes computer courses and classes of carpet making.

Within the framework of coalition program "From Equal Rights - To Equal Opportunities", an international conference was held at the International Post-Trauma Rehabilitation Center of the Armenian Red Cross (address: Yerevan, Ashtarak Highway 50/1). The conference took place on February 11 and 12, 2005 (beginning at 12:00).The conference goal was to discuss the draft law on NPAD. On 24 September, 2004, a Round table took place within the framework of the Eurocommission-funded program "From Equal Rights - to Equal Opportunities" implemented by the coalition of Havat and Unison NGOs. For more details click here.

The round table of NGO "Havat" of Hard hearing children's mothers took place on September 7-th in the Conference Hall of "Metropol" Hotel. The Round table was devoted to the termination of the program "The Establishment of an Integration Centre for Deaf and Hard Hearing Children in RA" which implemented by the contribution of "EURASIA" foundation. June 2004- May 2005 "Havat" NGO as a leader in coalition with "Unison" NGO is implementing a project sponsored by the European Commission aimed at elaboration of the National Plan of Action on Disability. For more details click here.

8 January 2004. The USAID-funded World Learning NGO Strengthening Program announced the winners of the Success Stories contest. 66 NGOs participated in the competition. "Havat" NGO is first in the list of those 5 organizations which were identified as the contest finalists.

4 December 2003. The NA Commission Board on with the issues of disabilities and presided over by Artak Arakelyan, held a symposium bearing the slogan "CITIZEN OF THE 21ST CENTURY". The symposium was dedicated to the legislative regulation of the problems of people with disabilities. Among the participants there were representatives from NGOs dealing with the problems of people with disabilities, as well as representatives from International Organizations, State Structures and Higher Educational Establishments. At the beginning of the symposium Arthur Baghdasaryan, the NA President, pronounced his word of greeting and wished its further activities a great success. The agendum of the symposium also envisaged Tamara Manoukyan's report concerning the problems of disabled people. Tamara Manoukyan is the chairman of the program bearing the title "The elaboration of Legislative Reforms in the RA Taxpaying Policy. The program is implemented by "Havat" NGO and funded by the contributions of "Eurasia" foundation and "The American Congress of Armenians" NGO Training and Resource Center.

On 4 November and 3 December 2003 the legislative draft project on making changes and additions to the Law on Television and Radio of the Republic of Armenia was adopted in the first and second audition by the National Assembly of RA.

As a result of the Questionnaire conducted in September-October 2003, a great number of proposals were advanced. For more details click here.

The second Round Table took place on Septenber 30, 2003. It was organized within the frameworks of the programs "The elaboration of Legal Reforms in the Taxpaying Policy for the Handicapped in RA" (Sponsor USAID American Congres for Armenians NGOs' training

and information centre) and "The Integration of Deaf people into Society in RA" (Sponsor USAID "World Learning"). The purpose of the Round Table was the final discussions of the proposed legislative reforms before submitting it to the NA agendum. For more details click here.

Since May 2003 the with the contributions of USAID "World Learning" the program called "The Integration of Deaf people into Society in RA" has been implemented. It aims to provide access to information for the 3500 deaf and dumb people living in Armenia by introducing permanent sourdo-translations on some TV channels. For more details click here.

On April 26 a Round Table took place. About 50 people were present. The legislative change was introduced by the NA lawyer; discussions around the issue followed. The Round Table was

conducted within the frameworks of the project "Legislative Changes in the Taxpaying Policy for the Handicapped in RA" (Sponsor American Congress for Armenians NGO). For more details click here.

Since March 10 2003 in collaboration with the "Euarasia" foundation the program called "The Establishment of an Integration Centre for Deaf and Hard Hearing Children in RA". The "Euarasia" foundation contributed to the start of the centre's activities. Modern equipment due to UNESCO's contribution was procured. For more details click here.

In September 2002-2003 the coalition program "The Integration of the Handicapped into Society in RA" was implemented. Within the frameworks of the program, the Bill on the changes in and amendments to the RA legislation on "The Social Security of the Handicapped in RA" was considered.
